About:

Eric Weaver founded Tacit Timber Frames in 2023, but its origins run much further back.  In his early twenties, after various stints traveling and working in different industries, Eric found himself moonlighting in a furniture shop.  He also found himself surprised by how much he relished the rhythms of woodworking and the camaraderie with the shop.  There was no turning back from there; diving into a years long journey learning from and working with many talented folks on a myriad of projects.

Eventually when an opening with a local timber framer opened up, this sparked curiosity yet again.  Working with the folks at East County Oak over the next couple years, he soaked up everything he could.  It was a formative experience to learn under the guidance of experienced members of the Timber Framers Guild, growing his confidence in all aspects of the process.

When Eric and his family decided to move to Tennessee, it was apparent that timber framing was something he wanted to continue in, as well as a trade community he wanted to remain a part of.  After building their own small cottage with his wife and receiving interest from others in having frames built, Tacit Timber Frames was born.

Now with a decade of experience working with wood in all it’s forms, Eric continues to practice the craft professionally while pursuing deeper understanding and experience from studying historical examples as well as connecting with other joiners in the wider building community.
